Two apartments, one shared origin.

Echo explores the concept of the architectural trace — the presence of the past inscribed within the contemporary urban landscape. The project concerns the restoration and adaptive reuse of a listed building in Peiraeus , approaching the existing structure as a carrier of historical and spatial narratives.

The design strategy is grounded in the principle of minimal and targeted intervention. The historic morphological elements of the façade are carefully restored and highlighted, while the new architectural elements introduced within the interior are designed with clarity and restraint, forming a distinct yet complementary layer of intervention. The coexistence of old and new creates a balanced composition in which historical memory remains visible.

The restoration of the façade and its architectural details reinstates the original expressiveness of the building, while the reconfiguration of the interior spaces introduces contemporary qualities of living and use.

Through this process, the listed building is transformed from a historical imprint into an active architectural entity, continuing to participate dynamically in the urban fabric and the collective memory of the city.
